This week
has been very exciting and very busy. That seems to be the way most of them are
lately. Yikes. It makes for lots of fun memories though.
Monday was
awesome! We had and FHE with Taraka along with some recent converts and ward missionaries.
It was Wonderful! It was so great to see all of the great fellowship going on.
I love the members here in Desert Hot Springs!!
Tuesday
was also eventful. Our tire may or may not have been slashed, but we had a nice
man pull over and help us put on the spare, so that was great :)
We had to
go get a new tire, but that also meant that we got to go to sonic. It really
must have been a tender mercy ;)
In
other news-- This week was very full of baptism preparations for Taraka. It was
great though! Probably the best baptism of my mission. Things went so well! we
had lots of support from the ward, and Taraka felt very loved and welcomed. He
shared his testimony at the end and it was just so neat to see the light of the
Gospel burning within him. I am so grateful to be able to know him.
Other than
that, I would say that our week has been pretty much same old same old.
This area is wonderful. We see countless miracles everyday. I am so amazed at
how many children Heavenly Father has prepared here. I love it!
One of our
coolest miracles this week was that while we were at the church working on a
baptismal program we had a man come in and was so excited that he had finally
found us. It turned out he was a less active that had been looking for the missionaries
for a while. His name is Nicholas, and he has been facing many trials lately,
and decided to pick up his old Book of Mormon and start looking for comfort in
better places. We were able to a lesson with him and his girlfriend later in
the week! It was great! We hope that things continue to progress with them.
Well, I
love you all. As my time winds down here, there are so many things that I come
to be grateful for. I love being a missionary. It is one of the most
rewarding things I have done. I really wouldn't trade these experiences for the
world. Its also the most difficult thing that I have done though and has been
full of more stress than I ever thought that life could offer. But, Oh, the
sweetness of the growth that comes from those trials. :)
